Whet Your Games Day Appetite

Each year for Games Day we produce an exclusive miniature, which is included in the price of your Games Day ticket and only available with the ticket. 

We currently have this year's exclusive miniature on display in the Citadel Miniatures Hall, as well as a selection of miniatures from previous years. It's the perfect chance to come and have a look at the Space Marine Captain and his thunder hammer to prepare some painting ideas for when you get your miniature and Games Day ticket.

Thunderhawk and Dark Angels land in Miniatures Hall

Now on display in the Citadel Miniatures Hall is Owen Rees' Dark Angels army and his wonderful army centerpiece, a Thunderhawk Gunship. About 20 inches long we could only just fit it the cabinet! Owen recently won best painted army with this force and once you see it, you'll understand why - the underside of his Thunderhawk is as well painted as the top, and our mirrored cabinet lets you see all the detail. 

The army is on display until September and currently we also have Paul Mansfield's Empire Army and Colin Parson's Bretonnians, but only until August 15th!

Warhammer 40,000 Exhibition Coming Soon

On the 12th of July Warhammer World will have something special to mark the release of 5th edition Warhammer 40,000. Our display of original art, exceptional miniatures and concept work is expanding to be larger than any exhibition previously shown in the hall - an extra 50% more Artwork!

Plus, a special limited edition poster will be available for the duration of the exhibition.

Silver Hammers and Bretonnians Hit Citadel Miniatures Hall

Now on display in the Citadel Minaitures Hall are two excellent guest Warhammer armies. Paul Mansfield's Empire Army and Colin Parson's Bretonnians.

Paul is a hobbyist from Derby and this army has been nominated for Best Painted at every Warhammer Grand Tournament at both the heats and finals for the last two years. Paul's army is full of conversions like this standard bearer and knights, all of which bear their iconic silver hammers. The piece truely worth seeing is his War Altar - an Arch Lector atop a War Wagon pulled by zealous Flagellants.

Colin painted the Bretonnian army for another hobbyist, who believes that they deserve to get out and get Colin some recognition for his detailed painting. The army is composed to showcase all the Bretonnian forces, from disposable peasants through to spotless Grail Knights. Attention to detail makes each miniature a minor masterpiece - designed and painted specifically to look good when in rank the massed army is breath taking.

Gaming Hall Closed for Cleaning 2nd - 7th June

This week, between 2^nd – 7^th June, the Warhammer World Gaming Hall will be closed for its annual deep clean.

Cunning plans and Changes coming.

There are some changes planned that will make your visits to Warhammer World and the Citadel Miniatures Hall even better than they are now. We thought that you might like a sneak peek into our ideas to get a feel for what changes are coming up...

The Glory of Chaos!

Now on in Warhammer World is our new exhibition, showcasing the Chaos Daemons - unique in Games Workshop as they cross both the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Fantasy universes.

This must - see exhibition features a range of classic miniatures from the 1980's and 1990's through to brand new sculpts, ForgeWorld figures and inspiring conversions. Alongside these painted miniatures there are some original 'greens' and three-ups such as the massive Soul Grinder.

Careful searching of the archive has provided Realm of Chaos books and a very rare chance to see original artwork from them, previously believed to be lost forever.

Last Chance to See Vampire Counts

There is only one more week left to see this wonderful exhibition devoted to the dark world of the Vampire Counts and the creatures who cause terror with them.

The display features original Studio artwork used in the latest Vampire Counts Codex, as well as a selection of highly impressive 'guest' armies, and a range of  'greens', the original sculpts that the minatures are cast from.

Last day is Monday 12th of May!  ...and then, from the 19th, Chaos shall descend upon us all.

Dave Thomas – Painting Master

Just arrived in the Citadel Miniatures Hall are the beautiful miniatures of Citadel Design’s sculptor and painter Dave Thomas. On display over the next few months his distinctive painting style is worth seeing, guaranteed to inspire new and existing hobbyists.

All of the miniatures featured in the Painting Masters article of White Dwarf issue 341 are on display, including Commissar Yarick, a Mordheim Ogre and a Freelance Knight - Dave’s Golden Demon entry for 2000. Unfortunately his Kislev Musician isn’t included, but with good reason – Dave kindly gave it to his father as a birthday present. However, being a generous soul he has added a few more figures to the display, not seen in the White Dwarf article.

New Releases In Citadel Miniatures Hall

Visitors to the Citadel Miniatures Hall have the opportunity to see new models up to 3 months before they go on general release in the UK!

The Miniatures Hall has an on-going and frequently changing display of new release miniatures, giving visitors the opportunity to see a selection of new models up close. Painted by the 'Eavy Metal team, these are featured in the new release section of White Dwarf magazine.

For the next few months, the new release display will feature Daemons of Chaos and Mordor. You can experience first hand the full horror of a Soul Grinder and the glory of the maggot-riddled Epidemius.
