Lord of the Rings Grand Tournament: The Quiz Revealed...

We've recently just held the Lord of the Rings Grand Tournament here in Warhammer World. The quiz proved to be a bit of a talking point for a lot of the players, as you can see below.

The tournament included the quiz as a means of distinguishing between anyone whose generalship score was tied with another player's. Here are the questions for you to have a look at and see how you would fare against them:

2. Q. By what other name was Gandalf known when he lived in the undying lands?
3. Q. Name three of the original Ents that lived in Fangorn Forest.
4. Q. The Prancing Pony Inn was located on the Great East Road at the foot of which hill?
5. Q. What was the profession of the 'Slayer of Smaug?'
6. Q. The art of smoking pipe weed was invented by Hobbits. Can you name the most popular variety?
7. Q. Of what race did Snaga belong to?
8. Q. In what year did the War of the Ring end?
9. Q. Gimli often referred to himself as 'Gimli, son of Gloin', but who was Gloin son of?
10. Q. What is Grond?
11. Q. What is the name of Theoden's sword?
12. Q. The battle between Gandalf and the Balrog is also known as which battle?
13. Q. What were the surnames of the Hobbits known as  Frodo, Meriadoc, Samwise and Pippin?
14. Q. What was the name of the greatest of the Eagles at the time of the War of the Ring?

No one got full marks during this particular task; there were some very thoughtful expressions in the gaming hall while this was going on. It's at this point I would like to thank Dan, one of newest members of the Warhammer World team for coming up with such a challenging task for our players.

As the dust settles from the weekend, so we have the results available for all to see.

Warhammer World Closed on 30th January

Due to an important internal activity taking place we regret to say the entire Warhammer World venue is going to be closed on Wednesday 30th January.

Warhammer World Entrance Refurbishment

Over the next few months we're going to be re-furbishing the main entrance to Warhammer World in order to give  a more characterful feel to the world's top gaming and miniatures arena. Unfortunately this will mean some disruption and inconvenience for our visitors, but we aim to keep this to a minimum. As you can see from the mock-up photo, the new entrance will give a much better feel of entry into the Warhammer World.

Waaagh! The Orks Exhibition

On now in Warhammer World is our latest exhibition, which is dedicated to the mean, green  barbaric Orks, and their brutal forays across the Warhammer 40,000 universe.   

This is an opportunity to see original Studio artwork and imagery used in the latest Orks Codex. Fans of painted models are also able to admire classic Orks from the early 1990's, as well as a selection of finely painted 'guest' armies. Visitors also have the chance to see up close a selection of large scale resins of new release Ork models.

The exhibition is on now until Sunday 9th March.

With the Warhammer Grand Final around the corner, here is the latest update to the Warhammer Grand Tournament House Rules document.

New Releases In Citadel Miniatures Hall

Visitors to the Citadel Miniatures Hall can now see new models up to 3 months before they go on general release in the UK!

The Miniatures Hall has an on-going display of new release miniatures which changes regularly to give visitors the opportunity to see up close a selection of new models painted by the 'Eavy Metal team, as featured in the 'new release' section of White Dwarf magazine.

For the next few months, the new release display will feature Orks, Mordor and Vampire Counts.

Don't miss the opportunity to see many of these new models before they come out in the stores!
